Odds and Ends

I am reading "Pillars of the Earth" because it was recommended by several friends on Goodreads.com. Darn book. I can't seem to put it down. I only have 75 pages left (out of 997). What will I read when I am done?

......

Ike's football team is terrible. They have lost both games and not made one touch down. I blame the coach. Miserable.

Dorene and Mike brought Wade to the game. It was quite a production with the handicap van and wheelchair and the muddy grass. I sure wish I had a picture of it. I think it made Wade happy and I know it made Ike happy. Fortunately they left before the ref called the Mercy Rule to end the game.

........

Paige insisted that I get a new purse in patent leather. So I did. I'm all about the patent leather now. Get one for yourself. It will make you happy in a material, temporary, artificial way. Nothing wrong with that as long as you know that is what it is. Mine is way cute and VERY cheap. Less than taking your family to Sonic for lunch.I wasn't sure I liked the picture of me. So here is the back up with Noah modeling. The purse came with a "free" little bag that I put this stuff into.

.......

I think I am over my Golden Oreo obsession. Whew!

.......

I miss Hannah and Gabe. And Sally, Emily, KK, and Melissa. And Suzanne and Ann. And my Mom.
........

On Friday I went to the Castle Rock Factory Outlet with girl friends to celebrate Laurel's 23rd (?) birthday. I planned to buy nothing. I bought a ton. It was fun in a material, temporary, artificial way. Nothing wrong with that as long as you know that is what it is. (see purse item above)
Laurel and her Hunky Husband Tom. Happy Birthday Laurel!

We ate at a great restaurant: Old Stone Church in castle Rock on 3rd street. I highly recommend it.
.......

I think it is really cool how the last 3 weekends have been perfect weather. The storms happen during school. I know I talk about the Colorado weather a lot. It fascinates me.
......

Still reading? Thanks for hanging in there to the end.

Excellent photo angle there. What was he standing on? Great purse. I am holding off until Sept 21 to use my patent beauty. I need something to look forward to.

Even though the weather is very mild here compared to Colorado, I often have to force myself not to write about weather. It's embarrassing how much weather affects me. I need to know more about yours. Storms as in snow? Or rain?

How much fun! Shopping!! I have to agree about the purse, and a pair of red patent flats, and pumps, as well as a FAB and almost trashy black patent leather pumps. (These will be your husbands favorite pair of shoes to see you in...just warning you. I can get Damon to do just about anything with those bad boys on.) Sorry about Ikes crappy coach. that isn't any fun. Maybe you should take over and wear your new purse so people know you mean buisness.

I obeyed Paige too! And I love my new patent purse. Thank heaven for Paige's fashion advice, or I'd be looking SO July/early august.

You are over the Golden Oreos? Really?

I miss you too.

We are all interested in weather. It's something that happens when you move to a new place or get to age 30. Suddenly you care about weather and how it affects you. You should blog about your weather. You could have a sidebar item chronicling the crazy weather there.

I notice the photos of you are still taken from above. Maybe if I do that to me I can look at pictures of myself again.

Reading your weather comments reminded me that you could put a widget thingy on your page and it tells the current weather for where you live. Just an idea.

Patent leather is definitely the way to go! So cute. My favorite is red! Cute pictures of everyone! I wish I could have gone shopping with you and to lunch. It's just not the same shopping online and waiting 2 weeks for it to arrive. Whew, it's a good thing Laurel's only 23 because I'm several years younger than her.

I miss Sonic for lunch. I miss awesome weather. I miss Castle Rock Outlets (great Santa). I miss you and your family. I don't miss having to carry candy around in my purse... I like your new purse. You are so pretty. Why don't you look any older than when I met you 12 years ago?

Sorry about the coach. I want to see Sally's purse too. She should blog.

I read Pillars. I can't remember a blessed thing about it, but I remember devouring it, must have been pre-kids.

It's true, the older we get the more we comment on the weather (and the price of gas for my family). I don't thing I can have a phone converstation with my mom without the weather being brought up or the cost of gas!! I swear they think it is a contest..."how much are you paying for gas...oh, that's nothing here we are paying..." :)

I love the purse and you are looking fabulous!!!

Glad you're enjoying Pillars, but don't bother with "world w/o end." I always have trouble starting a new book after finishing a really good one - it's like I'm in mourning and am not ready to move on!
