Rafting

The put-in point. See how steep the ramp is!!!?

Our good friends, Doug and Nicole, just bought the cabin up the road from us! These wonderful people taught us to raft 22 years ago. Ever since we got our cabin we have wanted to get rafts and hit the river.

D&N took our family rafting today. I, for the first time in my life, guided the raft. We used oars rather than paddles so I was completely (ineptly) responsible for the lives of Nicole and her darling dogs (rafting dogs!). I only almost killed us three times.

Ike and his fancy doggie purse.
Maggie (the purse) only fell in once during a rapid.
She is one tough puppy.

I want my own boat now.

It was great fun!

That looks so refreshing. Michael and I were daydreaming just earlier today about floating down a river.... so hot and humid here. So humid. ugh.

Oooo! Captain Robin! I want a dog like that just to have an excuse to put it in a life jacket and carry it around like a purse! How much fun! When are you coming home!?

You might be a serious rafter if your idea of a complete first aid kit is a roll of duct tape.

Looks like fun. I'm going on the upper Payette with the Relief Society wild women in 2 weeks. Yay! I'm a little scared.
