Your Gonna Miss This - Trace Adkins
A few months ago I was picking the boys up from the Y. This song came on the radio and by the time the boys got in the car I was bawling big ol' tears. They teased me about it for a few days. Every time they hear it they call me and play it on the phone and ask if it makes me cry. Usually it does.
Sometimes when I am a little grumpy Ike will sing, "Your gonna miss this!" with his big country music star voice.
I haven't ever been much of a country music fan. Even though the country music concerts I have been to have been great, and the music is usually clean and even funny, I just never got into it. I think I need to give country another chance. If you have a country album that you think I would like, please suggest it in the comment section.
Thanks y'all.

Listening to this song is like watching the movie "The Notebook." You know how it's going to end, you resist all you can, but you can't bottle it up! You can't! Boo-hoo.
What a great song. I'm not a fan of country. My son's fiance loves country music. I'll have to give it a try.
How did we get to talking about heartbreaking country songs when you were here?
I can't recommend an album, but I do like the Rodney Atkins song "Watching You". YouTube it.
As an aside: when Robin visited, we sat and watched these two videos at my messy desk, and bawled.
Here it is:

I like country music. But I am a closet listener. (spelled listner by Eve's K teacher by the way, really annoys me on all her notes, but that is TOTALLY off topic.)
I like Old school Alabama for dancing around and cleaning house. I like Faith Hill (early stuff) for dancing around and cleaning house. I also like some Shania for dancing around and cleaning house.
Guess what I do to motivate myself to clean?
Lately I've been on a MoTab kick. No wonder my house isn't clean. They are hard to dance to.
Henry laughs when I dance. Hard. I'm slightly offended because I'm not trying to be funny.
I love his emerging sense of humor. It delights me.
I should get a blog huh? sorry.
oh, and I can't watch that because I am feeling bad about getting frustrated with my lack of helpers tonight and I dont' want to compound my guilt.
Tomorrow.
ok, I'm a HUGE country music fan. I do love Trace Adkins. "Swing" is one of my favorites from him as well. Great beat and fun to dance to. (I don't watch videos so I have no idea about those.. I'm just liking the songs). "Stealing Cinderella" by Chuck Wicks, I also love most of Rascal Flatts (listen to "backwards" for a laugh, and "my wish" for a cry), Carrie Underwood (everything is good but I love "last name", all the yw should hear it), and listen to "In My Daughter's Eyes" by Martina McBride. Talk about a crying fest. It's been out for YEARS and I still cry every time. I also love Tim McGraw. That should keep you busy. Welcome to the country!
A couple more. Carrie Underwood "So Small", Clay Walker "Fore She Was Mama", "Mountains" by Lonestar. I especially love the chorus.
this song says a LOT about you and the stage of life you are in. You are truly a strong, loving, compassionate, eager, full of life, loyal...(may I go on?!?!) wonderful friend and mom and I am proud of you. Keep your song - your gonna miss this stage too!
I'm not a country fan either, but for some reason country music is the best background music for making a family video. Matt's family has done this for his parents the last 3 years. Last week we picked out our pictures and I was just wondering what song we were going to use. I will definitely play this one for Matt and see if he agrees with me on this song! Yipee-
Julie- okay - I'm gonna give it a try. I will download some of those songs and let you know how it goes.
Melissa! Wonderful detailed comment! Thanks so much. I love Alabama!
There was a time when I was a huge Country Music fan....It's rare now that I listen to it... but I do like Toby Keith... some of his music makes me laugh. "You're Gonna Miss This", as an empty-nest mother just makes me sniffle... anyone got a hankie??
