Weekend Update

Noah got a Superior at Guild. What a relief to have that over. Whew. The competition was held at a piano store. I think if I were uber rich we would collect pianos. I love them all, especially old ones, and I don't even play. Next competition is State held at the first of June. Let the practicing begin!

Ike managed to play non-stop all weekend. His class had a field trip to the fine arts center and then there was his soccer game on Saturday. He loves to be the goalie. Ike wants to grow his hair out "high school musical" style even though he makes fun of that show.

Hannah finished finals at BYU last week and spent the weekend in Boise with Gabe. She is relieved to be done with a very busy semester.

Gabe is moving to San Jose today for his summer job of selling alarm systems to strangers. He will face rejection and I think it will be hard. But he plans to make lots and lots of big bucks.

Roland got back from Texas late last night. He brought back CrackerJacks for Ike, an Austin City Limits t-shirt for Noah, and a globe made out of fancy rocks for me - at least he tried to pass it off as a gift for me. We both knew it was a gift for him for speaking at the conference. He is taking it to his office today.

On the advice of my super smart cousin Kory we went to see Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed. She has a great review on her blog.

I highly recommend this show. It isn't really entertainment as much as eye opening. As Kory said, I felt smarter walking out of the theater than I did walking in. I wish there were some way to get this show into the schools.

Advice to those going to see this move (and you all should): go with your "smartypants scholar" hat on. Not your "I want to zone out and be entertained" hat.

Woo hoo! You saw the movie and plugged my blog- it's almost as good as a birthday post.

I'm glad you liked it- you're right, if you want to be entertained this is not the right movie to see.

Opening week it ranked number 10 in the top grossing movies for the weekend and if you go to Fandango.com- it's one of the most recommended movies. Awesome.

I'm glad you posted a preview of it. I forgot to ask you about it this morning, it looks very interesting, now just to convince Steve....

Way to go Noah! When will we get to see video of his excellent playing?
