We drove to Boise the back way - turning north at Glenwood Springs and taking back roads up to Wyoming. Along the way we ran into the running of the sheep on the Colorado/Utah border (a lovely drive by the way).
You really need to watch the 14 second video to get the full impact:
Then we stopped at a firework store at Evenston, Wyoming. There were grocery carts and a coupon for free fireworks if you spend more than $150. Roland scoffed at the cart and coupon stating that we wouldn't need either.
But then we went into the store and Roland and Ike were positively giddy. Men don't giggle, but I swore I heard several men in this place giggling over rockets and bombs and exploding do-hickies. The place was packed with happy, loud talking, enthusiastic men dragging around bored women. We women would make eye contact and roll our eyes like, "men!". Much like a Nordstrom's sale with the roles reversed. It was awesome.
Oh, and we did need the cart and the coupon. :)

So fun. Massachusetts is all rulesy about fireworks which disappoints the boys in our house to no end.
And the purchases provided hours of entertainment for the rest of the clan! Thanks Roland.
